Did The Great Gatsby catch your eyes? It got me by Carey Mulligan’s Daisy looks, so vintage and so exquisite by those bling bling headpieces and beaded party gowns, as well as her fancy smile. Let’s see Carey’s shows for the movie  and for the Gatsby styles shooting for Vogue.

Carey wears her iconic short blonde hair and displays the charm of Daisy in a sequined gown and a purple lace dress. When she took pictures for Vogue, her gowns were fantastic: sky blue ruffles, all-over gold jewels, pink plunge neckline, beaded appliques, pearls, feathers, who wouldn’t remember how classic she was!

Denim + Skirt

Denim is my favorite fabric, so comfortable, normal and stylish! But it looks too simple like a school girl if I dressed up a jean pants and a top. So I guess maybe a colorful skirt will help me to be shine and pretty.

Denim T-shirt looks warm and fits the bodice very well; purple pleated long skirt adds the romance, paired with statement sunglasses and yellow clutch!

Gold necklace matching the gold chain bag and the pointy part in the nude heels. Red belt and champagne layered short dress are so beautiful!

White top, denim T-shirt, red long sheath skirt, blonde curved hairstyle. So cute!

How To Make Watercolor Nail Polish

Hey, here comes summer times for yummy watercolor! How about make a DIY watercolor nail polish for a cool and personal look?

The basic color I use is OPI Skull and Glossbones; other hues are pink, bright yellow and cobalt blue.

Firstly I paint my nails by the base color twice to make sure not ruin the watercolor style later.

Secondly, paint pink color and place a couple of small dots in a random places.

Thirdly, use a brush to paint a bit acetone for a fast dry.

Fourthly, dab the acetone-d brush onto the small dots of polish. Continue to dab the brush around to achieve the fine watercolor look.

At last, repeat the above steps with yellow and blue colors. Got it! Thanks to A CUP OF JO

Marc Jacobs RTW Fall 2013 Runway

Today let’s see the fashion runway by designer Marc Jacobs for the fall 2013. I can figure out the stunning lights reflected by the gold and silver gowns matching with fur or sparkle coats.  Some are full of bling bling sequins; some are smooth by the silk satin fabric.

Audrey Hepburn Party Inspiration

Audrey Hepburn is my goddess. I love her movie, her fashion style and her quote — ‘For beautiful eyes, look for the good in others; for beautiful lips, speak only words of kindness; and for poise, walk with the knowledge that you are never alone.’ Her vintage 1950′s style is my favorite, classic, timeless and never fade by the stream of time.

Black is never out of fashion too. So today I will share ideas for how to dress for a vintage look in Party DQ little black dresses.

Vintage look: nude is natural and low-key, as well as the elegant pearl. A strapless short ball gown in black is very simple but modern, paired with pearl studs and necklace. White against black is clever and peaceful. White clutch with nude plaid design adds charm to LBD, matching the white ruffled peep-toe heels.

Summer causal look: straw hat, sunglasses protect you from the hot sunshine. Black and gold bangle set, gold four tear drop earrings, brown clutch, flats make you look not boring and very cozy when you’re walking in the street. A leopard print belt highlights your waistline and grows up your chic index, paired with the sleeveless pleated cotton black dress.

Spring Mint Colors

At the end of Spring, look back celebrities’ styles, I love the fresh mint hue at the best among all intricate floral/ geometrical prints. Let’s see how Jessica Lowndes and Arizona Muse dressed in mint.

Jessica Lowndes opted a mint tee with a white biker jacket, black shorts, silver box clutch, nude heels and a statement mint necklace for the Topshop opening party in LA.

I like model Arizona Muse‘s black and mint style: long sleeve black top with curved neckline, mint maxi pleated skirt, dark green studded Valentino clutch.

If their dress code is a bit causal, why not choose a mint strapless gown with beaded bust for a formal party or the coming prom season?
